Macy Industries on Boston’s Rose Kennedy Greenway

December 01, 2020

Macy Industries, in collaboration with Landscape Forms, has provided new custom outdoor swing benches for the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston. The components were custom designed and fabricated specifically for this installation and required a combination of high strength and architectural appeal. A total of 8 benches have been installed in the Greenway’s North End Park, abutting historic Hanover Street.

The Rose Kennedy Greenway is an extensive park in the heart of Boston, located throughout several Boston neighborhoods including Chinatown and the Financial District in addition to the North End. The 17-acre Greenway is dedicated to the matriarch of the Kennedy family, Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, who was born in the North End. The private, non-profit Greenway Conservancy is committed to maintaining and improving the Greenway to provide a healthy space for all ages to enjoy.

The park offers seven water facilities, one of the largest free public Wi-Fi networks in the area, and a plethora of food trucks with options for any budget or taste. The latest addition to the park is a carousel with characters inspired by drawings that were created by local Boston school kids. The park also hosts a variety of free local events, such as Boston Local Food Fest, Berklee College of Music Concert Series, and much more.

Macy is proud to have been a part of this unique and challenging project, with the end result being enjoyed by hundreds of visitors daily.
