Off-the-shelf fencing options won’t work for everyone.
Plenty of homeowners and businesses find that standard fencing:
- Doesn’t “play nice” with unusual site dimensions or challenging topography
- Lacks the style or materials they want
- Can’t integrate specific design elements or features
At Macy Industries, we bridge the gap between your vision, your site, and your functional needs with custom metal fencing that we design, fabricate, and install.

Why Custom Metal Fencing?
Maybe you have an image in mind for a decorative privacy fence or need a high degree of precision for a high-security enclosure. Or perhaps you’re looking for a stylish custom gate for your home or a municipal space.
Maybe you’ve even talked to fencing companies, but their options are falling short of your expectations.
Here’s the thing. When you need a fence that’s more than just a barrier, custom metal fabrication gives you options that off-the-shelf systems simply can’t match, such as:
- A look that complements the space. From sleek modern lines to ornamental details, we can match almost any style.
- Finishes that protect and impress. Powder coating, paint, and specialized finishes help prevent corrosion while meeting your design goals.
- Durability that lasts decades. We work with metals like galvanized or powder-coated steel, stainless steel, and aluminum so that you can count on your fence for years to come.
- Security without compromise. We can integrate lockable gates, custom heights, or other features that meet specific requirements without sacrificing appearance.
Whether you’re aiming for high curb appeal, enhanced security, or both, a custom metal fence allows you to get a solution that matches your vision.
The Macy Industries Way: From Custom Design to Flawless Installation
Every custom metal fence we build starts with a conversation. We want to understand your goals and the specific challenges that need solving. Together, we discuss options based on factors like climate, maintenance requirements, budget, and intended lifespan. Below is an overview of our process.
1. Site Assessment
We take precise measurements, note grades and slopes, and look for anything that could affect installation. (For example, think stone walls, tree roots, or existing structures.) This assessment helps us determine the best materials and structural requirements for the fence.
2. Design Collaboration
Our team can work from your architectural drawings. Or you can rely on our in-house design capabilities to develop detailed shop drawings and stamped engineered renderings. Our team collaborates closely with your team to ensure the final product meets visual, structural, and code requirements while aligning with the overall project design.
3. In-House Fabrication
Because we fabricate everything ourselves, we can control quality at every stage and fine-tune details as needed. We use a range of methods depending on the material. The most common include welding (MIG/TIG), plasma cutting, CNC routing, and bending. Many of our projects also incorporate architectural detailing that requires fabrication precision beyond what’s available from mass-produced systems.
4. Professional Installation
Our installers make sure the fence fits the site exactly as planned. We coordinate with you to minimize disruption and work efficiently to complete the project. Installation often requires creativity or ingenuity, especially in spaces with challenging topography or historical requirements. We often work in tandem with general contractors or landscape teams to prepare the site. Our installation crews ensure everything is leveled, aligned, and anchored properly to meet structural and aesthetic standards.
Project Spotlight: Custom Metal Fencing for a Residential Horse Farm
A private residence in New Hampshire needed fencing for its horse farm. The owner wanted something functional to keep people out and the animals safe, but also refined enough to complement the property’s aesthetics.
Why off-the-shelf fencing options wouldn’t work.
With varied terrain, specific gate placements, and the need for a consistent look across long runs of fence, standard options just weren’t going to cut it. The homeowner also wanted a design that balanced open views with security for the horses.
Enter Macy Industries.
Our team worked closely with the client to design a custom solution that checked all the boxes. This included fabricating a fence to withstand harsh New England weather as well as a gorgeous medallion that perfectly captures the horse farm’s aesthetic.
The result is a custom metal fence that works beautifully with the landscape, meets the unique functional needs of the farm, and reflects the quality and craftsmanship Macy Industries is known for.
Project Spotlight: Mary Soo Hoo Park in Boston’s Chinatown
Mary Soo Hoo (Chinatown Gateway) Park is a small but important public space in Boston’s Chinatown, sitting right by the neighborhood’s historic gate. It’s a gathering spot for residents, a welcome stop for visitors, and a connector to The Greenway.
Macy Industries fabricated and installed the park’s now-iconic red fence—a bold visual feature that frames the space while keeping the street safely separated from the park. Built entirely from heavy-wall steel tubing, the fence was designed for durability in a high-traffic urban environment. It can handle the day-to-day wear of a city setting, from heavy pedestrian use to the occasional hard knock, without losing its form or finish.
Today, the red fence has become part of the park’s identity—both a safety feature and a piece of the visual fabric that makes Mary Soo Hoo Park a distinctive landmark in Boston’s Chinatown.
Why Work with Macy Industries Instead of a Fencing Company?
Fencing companies are great at installing standard products. But when you need something custom, you need a partner who can do more than order from a catalog.
At Macy Industries, we design, fabricate, and install every project ourselves. That means we can match your exact specifications, work around site challenges, and add architectural details that mass-produced systems simply can’t offer.
We also bring the right mix of skill and experience to complex projects, whether that means engineering for heavy use in a public park, matching the style of a historic property, or navigating challenging terrain on a residential site.
With Macy, you’re not just getting a fence. You’re getting a tailored solution designed for your space and built to last.
